Established in 1932, Coastal Machinery Company was the first planer manufacturer to lead the industry into hydraulics and quickly became recognised as the industry standard in planer and planer moulding equipment.

Today Coastal Machinery Company has it's equipment in installations throughout the world and the Coastal High Speed Hydraulic Planer and Feed Table is synonymous with increased production, low maintenance costs and ease of operation.  Coastal Machinery is still making the planers that made it famous but has evolved to offer a range of products to compliment these items.  Consistency, reliability and quality workmanship has been Coastal Machinery's goal from first to last.

Controls

Coastal Planers feature a time-tested PLC based control system featuring synchronised feed speed control, high resolution cutter head positioning and independent tension/position control of all powered press rolls. Electric (VFD) or hydraulic roll drives provide proportional control of planer and feed table speed. All feed roll speeds are fully synchronised.

A push-button control station located on the planer provides local control of all planer actuators and communication with DCS/SCADA computer systems allows mill-level controls of planer configuration and receipt of diagnostic/statistical information from the planer system
