Cam Tool
The new debarking tool system developed by Soderhamns for the Cambio series of debarkers.
The
CamTool has a patented bark deflector which considerably reduces the risk of
bark clogging inside the rotor. High priority has been given to the fitting
of the tool and the choice of materials used.
Reduced damage to logs
CamTool has a unique dynamic ability which allows an easy climb onto the log and highly accurate debarking along the entire surface. Impartial tests have shown that damage to the log caused by tools climbing has been reduced by 75% compared to other kinds of debarking tools.
The base of the tool has the original fine-splined shaft but a new stable attachment of the tool holder
The CamTool holder has a unique new property: the climbing edge is on the lower part of the holder which exposes a wide area to deflect the bark against the feeding direction minimising the risk of bark clogging the rotor. The shape of the rotor is designed to provide a more gentle climb onto the log leading to a documented reduction in damage to logs.
The standard tip features climbing and debarking edges of a hard metal alloy. Low weight is essential to reduce the effects of centrifugal force.
