The primary breakdown strategy in a log is critical to the potential yield of that log. Sawmills can spend up to $2M on systems that indicate the optimum cutting angle... give or take 5%, 92% of the time.

True View* has been designed and manufactured in Australia by the Acora Renéco Group. True View* is a hardware and software breakdown solution to enhance the rotational accuracy of these systems, offering opportunities to dramatically increase yield – and profits.

True View* works alongside an existing manual scanner system and utilises the system’s rotation solution of a log, but rather than just indicate the angle to rotate the log to, True View* accurately rotates and sprays a mark on the log. An operator then simply rotates the log until that spray mark shows precisely at the top.

Even if a mill upgrades to an automatic system, True View* can still earn its keep by offering a valuable visual check of the automatic system’s accuracy (or inaccuracy), giving the operator an opportunity to override the system and adjust the rotational position for enhanced accuracy and potential increase in yield.

How it works
As the log passes through the log sorting scanner, the information on the assumed angle for which the diameter or sawing pattern solution was determined, is passed onto True View*, which rotates one of two heads to a position corresponding to this angle. The system then sprays an indicative mark on the trailing or leading end (or both as an option), so as when the log enters the mill, the operator rotates the log until this line is vertical, thus accurately achieving the optimum rotation for breakdown.
